Awana Clubs at Our Church

Awana is a premier, Bible-centered children and youth ministry that helps kids know, love, and serve Jesus Christ. The name stands for Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed, inspired by 2 Timothy 2:15. Each week, children experience a high-energy mix of exciting team games, age-specific Bible lessons, and small-group mentoring focused on Scripture memorization. Our goal is to partner with parents to build a lasting spiritual foundation in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. 

A typical club night consists of three fast-paced segments: 

  • Game Time: High-energy team games played on the famous Awana game circle.
  • Handbook Time: Small groups where kids recite memorized verses and discuss biblically-grounded life lessons with caring leaders.
  • Large Group Time: A dynamic community gathering featuring age-appropriate Bible teaching, worship, and award recognition. 

 

Puggles (Nursery)  

Puggles recognizes the incredible spiritual potential of our youngest toddlers. Through engaging songs, simple crafts, and interactive play, toddlers are introduced to four foundational biblical truths: God made everything, God is great, God loves us, and we give thanks.

 

Cubbies (Preschool/Kindergarten)  

Cubbies celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers and kindergartners. Using friendly puppet characters, vibrant handbooks, and creative activities, kids learn about the greatness of God, the love of Jesus, and the joy of his Word. This club nurtures a foundational respect for God and His creation.

 

Sparks (1st–3rd Grade)  

Sparks ignites the curiosity of early elementary kids. Children take a thrilling chronological trip through the Bible. They learn about key biblical people and events while building a strong foundation of wisdom for knowing Jesus Christ. Sparkies earn exciting awards and badges for their uniform vests as they complete handbook sections.

 

Truth & Training / T&T (4th-6th Grade)  

T&T focuses on the upper elementary years, guiding kids through a deeper understanding of God’s grace and basic Christian beliefs. The curriculum addresses the real-world questions preteens face. It teaches them how to apply biblical truths to daily choices, establishing a resilient faith that lasts. 

 

Trek (Youth Group/ Grades 7-12)  

Trek challenges middle and high students to intentionally ground their identity in Christ. During a pivotal stage of life, this curriculum helps students navigate three major questions: Who am I?, Why am I here?, and Who’s with me? It moves students from structural lessons to owning their personal faith. 

 

Journey (Adult Bible Study)  

Awana even has something exciting to offer adults! Journey helps establish adult believers of any age as lifelong, resilient disciples. The program features in-depth Bible study on select books of the Bible, and advanced, deep theological studies and worldview training. It mobilizes adult believers to truly live as disciples of Jesus Christ, and equips them to gracefully share the Gospel and confidently defend their faith.
